Tough Mudder organizes 5K, 10K, and 15K obstacle course races throughout the United States. Below is a look at three of the obstacles included in these races.

The Block Ness Monster — Designed by a Tough Mudder intern, this obstacle features a series of 500-pound blocks rotating in water. Participants have to work together to push and rotate the blocks so that others can clear the obstacles.

Mudderhorn — The Mudderhorn is a 40-foot tall triangular wall covered with a net. Participants have to climb up the wall on the net and down the other side. Leg and grip strength are crucial.

Arctic Enema — Whereas most of the Tough Mudder obstacles are physical in nature, the arctic enema is entirely a mental challenge that involves managing and overcoming extreme cold. Participants are dropped into a 34-degree Fahrenheit ice pit with more than 20 tones of ice. The most challenging part is having to enter the pit a second time.
